started
as a once a week prayer meeting and has branched out into a regular Monday
prayer cell and a once a month 24-hour prayer chain. This is in answer to
God's call to intercessory prayer. Our purpose is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
"If my people,
who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sins, and will heal their lands". (NIV)
The
Monday prayer cell
(with 7 regular members) meets at 7:00 P.M. every week, the midweek prayer meeting
every Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. And the 24-hour prayer chain is observed on the
1st Saturday of every month. Since the expansion of our prayer ministry about
five years ago, our church has been truly blessed by the Lord, souls have been
saved, lives have been delivered from sickness and problems, membership has
grown, not only in numbers, but spiritually, with more members getting involved.
And most of all, God has been honored and worshipped in an atmosphere of love
and harmony.
There's
a great need for more prayer warriors. There are still empty slots in the prayer
chain that need to be filled, and plenty of empty seats that need to be occupied.
